Sorry it's been so long!

Wow! It's been a while since I posted...sorry to the ones who faithfully read my ramblings!

August has been less exciting than the rest of the summer. I spent the first 3 weeks mostly in meetings, taking my mom to the doctor for her cataract surgery, and prepping for school...pretty ordinary stuff. NOW my life starts to get interesting (and very busy) again!

My RA staff arrived on Friday and we have been spending a lot of time together! Here are some highlights...
-an overnight retreat at Merry Lea - our college owned environmental center
-making homemade pizza at my place
-worshipping together at my church
-Sunday dinner of ribs & salmon at the dean's house
-watching "Freedom Writer's" and discussing it
-getting to know each other better, creating inside jokes, and all that fun stuff!

I really think this is going to be a good staff! They are excited about the job and have been honest with me about their concerns going into the year. I look forward to seeing how they grow through this experience. THIS is why I do this job! :)

Here are some photos from a little photo shoot we did on Saturday evening...

Weekend in Nashville, TN

The weekend of July 26-29 I went to Nashville, TN with Mom, my sister-in-law Linda, and my two adorable nieces - Daisy and Betsy. We stayed at a Wyndham condo in Nashville (my brother and his family are owners!) It was a great trip to end my summer vacation with - a nice mix of touristy things and relaxing things.

Here are some photos highlighting the trip....
