Graduation Sunday

Sunday, April 26th was graduation Sunday. It was a gorgeous day with the sun shining brightly and not too much heat. Here are photos of me and some of my favorite graduating people...

Lunch at El Camino

Normally on Sundays I have lunch with the group of college students that attend my church. We eat in someone's home. The 26th was graduation Sunday and since many were either home for the weekend or busy on campus with Commencement weekend activities I invited those who were interested to join me for lunch at El Camino - one of my favorite restaurants in Goshen. Ashley and Kat were available to join me. We had a lovely visit and a tasty lunch!

My little friend, Leah Housholder, was dining at the restaurant with her family and came to sit with the "big girls" while she waited on her meal to arrive.

Bethany Fish Fry

Friday, April 24th was the Bethany Fish Fry. I typically go to the Fish Fry with the Rissers. This year was no exception. Deanna and I walked down to the school and met Denise there. while I wouldn't want to eat the Fish Fry menu of fish, chips, cole slaw, bread and pie every day, a couple of times a year I find it to be wonderfully good! I love the fish and the pie, but my favorite part is the cole slaw. It is the vinegar & sugar recipe and is oh so tasty! I generally prefer the creamy type of cole slaw, but there's just something so very tasty about the stuff that Bethany makes...maybe it's because I have such fond memories of making loads of the stuff for the Fish Fry back when I was in high school.

My friend Cara lives in Texas and doesn't get to attend the Fish Fry with us anymore. So I told her that I'd eat a bite of cole slaw in her honor...here's the photo to show that I did! :)

Softball Senior day

The softball team played their last home game on the 26th. It was a double header. There was time between the two games to honor the seniors. Two of my favorite GC seniors are on the softball team - Haly and Amy! These two were roommates on Miller 3 their first year and became very special people to me. Haly was one of my RAs her sophomore year. I got to know both of their sets of parents pretty well over the years. It was bittersweet to see them honored at this special ceremony.
